The “Delta IV” rocket family is the latest series of American-made launch vehicles. It is the only rocket, currently in use next to the “Delta II” series of rockets. It was built for the US AF program “Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicle”. Used for launching heavy military satellites and commercial launches. “Delta IV” is the world's largest rocket, built after 2002. In height, these rockets exceed even the reusable US spacecraft in the launch configuration. “Delta IV” launched for the first time on November 20, 2002, carrying the “Eutelesat” W5 communications satellite.
