The ceremonial raising of the "Dar Mlodziezy" flag took place on July 4, 1982. The sailing ship's godmother became Helena Jurkewicz, the wife of captain Kazimierz Jurkiewicz, who served honorably on the "Dar Pomorza" sailing ship. "Dar Mlodziezy" replaced the sailing training ship "Dar Pomorza", moored in service in Gdynia Pomorza Coast, which officially became a museum ship from that day. "Dar Mlodziezy" is a three-masted frigate, owned by Gdynia Hight school and managed by the state treasury. The ship was built mostly with funds, donated by the Polish population, so the name is a bit inaccurate - it is not a "gift of youth", but rather a "gift to youth". The main designer of the ship is engineer Zygmunt Choren. "Dar Mlodziezy" has 105 places for trainees, the crew consists of 44 sailors. Places are provided for subject teachers, sailors, and guests. "Dar Mlodziezy"'s debut sailing - participation in "Opsail.82" where he took 3rd place.

A highly detailed, well designed large and complex model of a sailing ship for intermediate to advanced modelers.
