Lautello is a type of small Mediterranean sailing ship, built in the 19th century. It goes by several names, such as "laudo", "leuto", "laoutelle" or "lauteddu" and is distributed mainly in Sicily and around Naples. Its main features were a large width (1:3), a very prominent deck, a pointed waterline, a forward-tilted mast with a Latin sail. The sailboat was intended for cabotage (coastal) voyages, oyster fishing. The last purpose was served by a large hole in the rear protruding part of the ships deck. It was possible to meet ships with two yards, but only one was raised, as needed.
A simple, well designed and detailed sailboat model. Working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, both the advanced beginner and the modeler with little experience will stick this model together perfectly. Only haste and carelessness will not have a place here.
