The Norwegian merchant brigantine "Leon" was built in the city of Larvik in 1880, the port of origin was Porgrund. Her most common obligation was trade in goods between the British Isles and Norway. At some point in the career, its sail equipment was replaced by a schooner type. This was a typical sailing merchant vessel of the Northern and Baltic Seas of the second half of the 19th century. "Leon" continued to carry cargo until 1915. Its end after 35 years of service, was not connected with the increase in the efficiency of steamships, nor with the First World War, that was raging at the time. On October 30, while she was sailing with holds full of coal from Granton to Porsgrund, a leak developed in the hull. The crew were unable to bring her under control and were forced to abandon ship before it sank.

A model of a brigantine from 1880 can be made from the magazine. A moderately complex, well-detailed and well-designed model for intermediate to advanced modelers. However, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model can be perfectly glued together by less experienced modelers. Sails and flags are double-sided printed on thin paper. Colors reserve are in stock. Short text instructions in Ukrainian, Polish, German, English. The graphic instruction is large, well drawn, easy to read and informative.
