It was built at the "Blohm und Woss" shipyard in 1909-10 and served as the school - training sail-ship "Prinzess Eitel Friedrich", making educational voyages on behalf of various schools. After World War I it went to France as reparations, where it was not used and passed from hand to hand. Purchased in 1929 by the Polish People's Navy Committee for 8,000 French francs, which was only 8 percent of the ship's residual value. The ship was rebuilt in Denmark, an auxiliary engine was installed and on June 19, 1930 it arrived in Gdynia, where it was given the name "Dar Pomorza". The ship is so named, because of the significant financial support provided by the residents of the Polish seaside, who raised funds for the purchase of the sail vessel. In 1982 it became an exhibit of the Gdynia Navy Museum and stands at the quay near the museum.

A fairly complex, well-detailed and well-designed model for intermediate to advanced modelers only. The detailing of the hull and decks, masts, rigging and sail equipment are perfectly restored, the colors are not stock as such, but can be "combined" from the detailed gluing parts of the other side. Textual instructions are minimal, graphics are poor, but sufficient. The model reproduces the current appearance of the museum ship, so it can be made without sails.
