"Fortuna" - wooden boat, the only ship of Peter I's Pleasure Flotilla on Pleshcheev Lake, that has survived to this day. A historical monument, the main exhibit of the "Botas" museum. The condition, in which this boat has survived, suggests, that it is a ship, built by the young Peter I - the original. A boat is a wooden with an almost rounded front and stern, distinctly Dutch in style. It is calculated for 5 pairs of oars, but none of them have survived to our days. A cutout is made in the middle of the front bench and a fitting is attached to anchor the mast. The sailing equipment consisted of a gaff or sprint mainsail and a triangular jib (cleaver). The helmsman steered the boat with a hanging rudder with an iron tiller. In the years 1689 - 1692 the Pleasure Flotilla was built in Lake Pleshcheev, which included the boat "Fortuna". On February 7 (18), 1722 the tsar issued an order, in which he instructed to forever preserve the remains of ships, yachts and galleys ,built on Lake Pleshcheev and with which the tsar learned the basics of seafaring. In 1783 all the ships of the Pleasure Flotilla, stored in Pereyaslavl, burned down in a fire. Only the "Fortuna" boat remained safe, as it was left for safekeeping in the village court of the village of Veskovo. On August 1 (13), 1803 the bot was placed in the museum's brick building, where it is kept until now.

A simple, but demanding sailship model, whose laser-cut cardboard details of the required thickness also need to be painted in the appropriate color. The model can be glued even by modelers with little experience under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. And what's more, this model may be one of the first models of a sailboat, You build.
