The armed steamship (sloop-of-war) "Saginaw" was built on Mara Island in San Francisco Bay in 1858-1860. Served in the Pacific Fleet: off the coast of China (until July 1862), near the coasts of the United States and Mexico (1863 - 1865), in the Pacific Northwest (Washington State in Canada and southern Alaska - 1866 - 1869). The voyage to Midway and Kure Atolls ended with the ship wrecking on the reefs on October 29, 1870. The "Saginaw" wreck was discovered in 2003.
An uncomplicated, well-designed and sufficiently detailed model of a sail-steamship, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, will be perfectly glued even by an advanced beginner modeler. The, where needs, are printed with double-sided printing, while the bronze parts and copper bottom cladding are printed with "metallic" paints. Sails and flags are double-sided printed on thin paper.
