57-gun sail-screw frigate "Oleg" built in Kronstadt. The ship's keel was laid on January 29, 1858, and launched on June 4, 1860. The hull was built from larch, oak and pine wood and assembled with the help of numerous metal fastening structures. The propeller was 5.8 m in diameter and, when sailing under sail, was disconnected from the drive shaft and retracted into a special well at the stern. According to the sailors, who sailed this frigate, the ship was very strong. Well withstood the shocks of the waves, but poorly listened to the rudder both in sailing and in propeller mode. In 1861, while in the Mediterranean Sea with the escadre, "Oleg" ran aground on a rocky reef at Cape Saint-Jean in France. The keel was broken in a sector almost 30 meters long, but the crew managed to float the ship off the rocks and sail to Toulon under its own power. In 1863 he swam again on rocks, but this time in the Gulf of Finland near the Åland Islands. From the autumn of 1863 to the end of 1865 the ship participated in another Mediterranean expedition. Later, only the Gulf of Finland was sailed. On August 3, 1869, during the training maneuvers near Koland Island, "Oleg" was rammed by the armored battery "Kremlj" and the ship sank within 15 minutes. Of the crew of 546 people, 16 were killed.

A well-designed, richly detailed complex model for intermediate to advanced modelers only.
