A ketch is a two-masted sail vessel with straight and diagonal sails. Ketches originated in England and North America in the mid-17th century as fishing and trading vessels, and were used in military operations as bombardment vessels. Such a ship was armed with large-caliber smooth-bore guns (mortars, "unicorns") for firing covering fire, as well as small cannons for self-defense. The model represents an English bombing ketch of the early 19th century. It is armed with a 10-inch mortar and is designed to bombard enemy coastal fortifications. The mortar could fire at long ranges, and the "Convulsion" had four 18-pounder carronades for close combat.

A miniature model (only 9 cm long by the deck), but quite labor-intensive - not only the sailing equipment, but also all the details are very small. The model is well designed and printed with high quality. Sails, some details and flags are double-sided printing. The model is intended for modelers of any experience, but for advanced beginners and modelers with little experience, we advise to glue the model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, because You are facing a difficult puzzle and it will not be easy.
