„Great Western“ – the British passenger steamship

In 1838 The "Great Western' was the first steamship, built for transatlantic travel. Designed by Isambard Brunel, the ship served as a model for all future passenger transatlantic paddle steamships until they were replaced by propellers and became the forerunner of the great ocean liners, that flourished in the first half of the 20th century. The "Great Western" operated in the New York direction for eight years, before its owners went out of business. The steamship was then sold to the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company, requisitioned during the Crimean War, served as a troop transport ship and in 1856 given for cutting.

The model is well designed and printed with high quality, but quite labor intensive due to the sail rigging. Recommended for naval enthusiasts of all experience. Sails, some details and flags are printed with double-sided printing, there are details, printed with "metallic" type bronze paint.
