„Le Fleuron“ – the French 3 rank lineship

"Le Flueron" - 64-gun third-rank lineship, built according to the drawings of naval architect Blaise Olivier, who was sent to Brest in 1729-1732 with his father Jozef, chief shipbuilder, build a ship. The ship is a fine example of French shipbuilding craftsmanship of the early 18th century, not yet influenced by the canons and standards of the English and Dutch navies. "Le Fleuron" was one of the best ships in Louis XIV's fleet and she is best described by the following characterization: "all, who served on "Le Fleuron" or saw her sail rigging considered this sailiship to be an ideal ship" and she certainly was - the fastest ship in the escadre. Served until 1745, when it burned during the raid on Brest. During its service, "Le Fleuron" participated in several missions off the coast of North America, in Guinea, and participated in campaigns in the Baltic Sea.
