The Trabaccolo is a widely used sailship in the Adriatic. The name comes from the word "trabacca" - tent - probably derived from the characteristic shape of the sails. Appeared in the first half of 15th century on the territory of Venice, as well as in Dalmatia and Albania. Sturdy, large-capacity vessels of this type were used not only for trade and fishing, but were also loved by smugglers, pirates, and also used for military purposes as armed support ships. Built of oak and pine wood, the length varied between 12 and 25 meters, with a cargo capacity of 50 to 200 tons. These were simple, inexpensive, sturdy ships with a large hold and did not require large crews (5-15 people). The shape of the hull, the rims and the equipment of the sails varied depending on the region, in which they were built.

A small, but quite complex model, although not so much, that it would not be assemble by an advanced beginner modeler, only he should work under the supervision of a more experienced modeler and this should not be one of the first more complex models. And for those, who have experience, it - a good relaxation after more complex models. The sails and flag are printed on both sides.
