The “Seehund” is the first miniature submarine, with a relatively long range designed to operate in the enemy's coastal zone. It was constructed by Card Fisher and Otto Girma. The first three Type XII vessels were ordered from “Howaldtswerke Shipyard” in April 1944. They were marked U5001, U5002 and U5003. Of the 1,000 units ordered and built at the three shipyards, only 285 were used in combat conditions. However, the results were poor. And the use was no longer due to the lack of fuel and other materials and crews. In addition, Navy Commander Denic preferred Type XXIII submarines.

A simple, well-detailed and easy-to-assemble model, that even novice modelers can add to their collection.
