A miniature submarine, also known as a Type XXVIIA U-boot. His drawings were drawn up by the Fleet Design Bureau, based on the experience of “Molch” submarines. The “Hecht” (“Pike”) was powered by an electric motor and had one propeller. Energy was stored in 5 batteries, was able to dive to a maximum depth of 50 m, the crew consisted of 3 sailors. He had to carry either a detachable suction mine or two combat divers and a pneumatic pontoon and explosives mounted on the hull, which divers would have attached to enemy ships. It was also possible to hang one 533 mm torpedo under the hull. In this case, 3 additional batteries were installed in the front. On January 18, 1944, Hitler allowed the construction of 50 such ships, and on May 9, the “Germania shipyard” received a contract to build them. However, the combat use of these ships was deplorable. Once again, these were guns against their own.
A simple, well-detailed and easy-to-assemble model, that even novice modelers can add to their collection.
