The USS “Nautilus” is the first in the world nuclear submarine. In 1958, the “Nautilus” reached the North Pole, sailing under the Arctic ice, becoming the first ship in human history to cross this globe in its own right. On June 14, 1952 a ships keel is laid at “Groton Shipyard”, the ship is launched on January 21, 1954, and “Nautilus” is recruited to the U.S. Navy on September 30, 1954. On January 17, 1955, at 11:00 a.m., the ship set sail for the first time and transmitted the radiogram "Underway on Nuclear Power". On August 3, 1958, the Nautilus became the first ship in human history to cross the North Pole. Removed from the U.S. Navy lists on March 3, 1980, declared a National Monument of U.S. History on May 20, 1982, and opened to the U.S. Naval Museum on April 11, 1986.
A not very complicated, but demanding, maximally detailed model of a nuclear submarine, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can be perfectly assembled by an advanced beginner and a modeler with little experience.
