Type XIV Submarines - a German submarine of the Second World War period, the result of further development of the Type IX-D submarines. The ship was designed to supply food, fuel and ammunition to other submarines in enemy communications. It had the unofficial name "Milchkuh" (German: "Milchkuh"). Each "milk cow" could carry up to 400 tons of fuel for combat submarines, carried four spare torpedoes on board, food reserves in refrigerators, and also had a bakery for the supply of fresh bread. The only weapons on the Project XIV submarines were three anti-aircraft guns - two 37 mm caliber and one twin 20 mm machine gun. The "Milch Cows" played an important role in providing supplies and ammunition to the Type VII medium submarines, that participated in the "Unternehmen Paukenschlag" raiding operation in American waters. Therefore, the hunt for these ships was activated and in 1943 the last ship was sunk. A total of ten units were built: U-459, U-460, U-461, U-462, U-463, U-464, U-487, U-488, U-489 and U-490. Another 14 ships were not completed. The construction of three of them - U-491, U-492 and U-493 - was stopped in 1943. in July and August, they were 75% complete. The remaining 11 submarines were canceled in 1944. on May 27, it hasn't even started. On the same day, Karl Dönitz canceled plans to design and build a new generation of Type XX supply submarines.

A fairly complex, well-designed and highly detailed model of the Type XIV "Milchkuh" submarine, aimed mainly at intermediate and advanced modelers. However, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, an inexperienced modeler will also "beat" this model, but work should not be rushed. The model can be made optionally from all 10 built ships. The level of detail is sufficiently high. The model has pages with double-side printing, a solid supply of colors, "secondary" cladding and all the frame parts for its assembly.
