Type VII submarines were a series of submarines, used by the German Kriegsmarine during World War II (1939-1945). The most large-scale type of submarine in history. Of the 1050 submarines of this type ordered by the Kriegsmarine in the period from 1935 to 1945, 703 boats of seven modifications were commissioned: 10 boats of the VII-A modification, 24 of the VII-B modification, 572 of the VII-C modification, 87 of the VII-C modification / 41, 0 - modifications VII-C / 42, 6 - modifications VII-D and 4 boats of modification VII-F. Type VIIC boats were the "workhorses" of the German submarine fleet. A total of 568 type VIIC submarines were built between 1940 and 1945. Boats of this type were produced throughout the war. The first submarine of this type was the U-69 in 1940. Type VIIC boats were effective combat vehicles and were used everywhere, although their range was less, than that of Type IX submarines. The Type VIIC was a slightly modified version of the successful Type VIIB. It had very similar engines and power, but was larger and heavier, making it slower than the Type VIIB. Many submarines of this type were equipped with a snorkel in 1944 and 1945. They had the same arrangement of torpedo tubes, as their predecessors, with the exception of U-72, U-78, U-80, U-554 and U-555, which had only 2 bow torpedo tubes, as well as U-203, U-331 , U-351, U-401, U-431 and U-651, which did not have stern TAs.

Type IX submarines are German diesel-powered submarines. The development of the project began in 1935, the first Type IX boats entered service in 1938. In the future, the boats improved, only seven modifications - A B C C / 40 D1 D2 D / 42. In total, 193 Type IX boats of various modifications were built, thus boats of this type became the second largest among all submarines built in Germany (after Type VII submarines). Type IXC/40 - slightly larger, than type IX C, had an even larger fuel capacity, the third periscope was removed. Built from 1940 to 1944, a total of 87 boats were built.

The medium size boat models, although well designed, are richly detailed, but isn’t complex. Even an advanced beginner and inexperienced modeler, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can quite assemble these beautiful models. The edition is complected with laser cut frame parts, made of cardboard 1 mm thick. Also added one sheet of cardboard 1mm thick.
