MTZ-50 "Belarus" - the USSR wheeled tractors

MTZ-50 "Belarus" is a general-purpose wheeled tractor, manufactured at the Minsk Tractor Plant from 1962 to 1985. The first prototype was presented in 1958. Since 1985, it has been produced in limited quantities only for export. Not delivered to Russia. In the 1990s production was resumed under the "Belarus-500" brand. MTZ-50 tractors are the result of a deep modernization of the previously produced MTZ-5 tractors. The tractor is built according to the traditional layout of its family: half-frame construction with supporting transmission unit housings, front-mounted engine, large-diameter rear drive wheels, reduced-diameter front steering wheels. The MTZ-50 tractor is driven only by the rear wheels. Large quantities of these tractors plowed in the collective farms and Soviet farms of the Lithuanian SSR. After the restoration of independence of Lithuania they were given to the members of collapsing collective farms for a fee or sold to farmers, and in some places they are still working successfully in Lithuanian agriculture, industry and building places.
