The now defunct lighthouse at Gdańsk's New Port was built in 1894. It was not the first lighthouse in Gdańsk. He began his service in the Prussian period and later worked in the "free city". On September 1, 1939, the Germans loaded a heavy machine gun into the lighthouse, firing to Westerplatte on the other side of the canal. By order of Major Sucharski, the point of fire was destroyed by a single shot from the only field cannon he had. The hole, that hit, after it was remount by the Germans and lighter bricks are still visible in this area. The light of the lighthouse was visible for 20 nautical miles (36 km).

The model is not complicated and is perfect for beginners and inexperienced modelers. And more experienced modelerscan try to "squeeze" more, than the publication gives
