In 1887 a maritime lighthouse was built on the dune of Oksywie (now a suburb of Gdynia). Not a trace of this building has survived to this day, but in 2007 a monument was erected in the place, where it stood. Oksywie’s lighthouse not only helped fishermen and sailors find their way to the port, but also reported shoals in the sea near Rewa. Modernized several times by changing light sources. In the fall of 1920 the Germans handed over the lighthouse to the Polish Maritime Administration and it operated until 1933. Became unnecessary, when new, larger navigation lights were built around the entrance to the port of Gdynia. A few years later - in 1939, when the Germans occupied Oksywie, they completely destroyed the lighthouse building. The lighthouse was small, with a tower only 10 meters high, but it stood on a fairly high dune (46.5 m) and its light could be seen 8 nautical miles away

. A simple, but beautiful model of a lighthouse, suitable even for novice modelers, but they are advised to work under the supervision of a more experienced modeler. And the experienced ones can squeeze a lot out of this little model. What? – we leave it to You imagination.
