Grumman F-11F “Tiger” is an American single-engine deck fighter, designed to replace the F-9 fighters. For the first time the prototype took to the air in 1954, after a series of tests, it was accepted into service in 1956. Initially, the F-11 was a private initiative of the “Grumman” concern, but the good qualities of the future aircraft soon attracted the interest of the Navy Bureau of Aeronautics, which ordered the production of two prototypes in 1954. Serial "Tigers" are equipped with the “Wright” J65 engine, which was a licensed version of the British Armstrong Siddeley "Sapphire" engine. Only two prototypes, designated F-11-F-1 "Super Tiger", were powered by “General Electric” J79 engines. But the aircraft's career in the US Navy was not long - already in 1961, they began to be removed from the first lines of service. This was due to the high crashworthiness of their engines and the development of the much more advanced Vought F-8 “Crusader”. The following aircraft carriers were armed with the F-11: USS “Ranger”, USS “Interpid”, USS “Bon Homme Richard”, USS “Forrestal”, and USS “Saratoga”. Technical characteristics: maximum speed - 1170 km/h, rate of climb - 83 m/s, maximum ceiling - 14900 m, maximum flight distance - 2050 km, armament: 4 cannons “Colt” Mk.12 cal.20 mm, 4 missiles AIM -9 “Sidewinder”.

An interesting and well detailed and well-designed model airplane for modelers of all experience. Only beginners and modellers with little experience should stick this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and do not make the cockpit equipment, make the cockpit cover opaque, make the landing gear retracted - in the flight configuration. Well-detailed cockpit interior, chassis niches, separated control plates, hanging armament. There are slight traces of exploitation.
