“Hurricane” was built in early 1935 by a team, led by Sidney Kam. At that time an airplane capable of exceeding a speed of 500 km/h had not yet been constructed. Very soon, the British Air Ministry adopted the “Hawker” machine as the main fighter of the Royal Air Force. The first serial copy took to the air in the middle of 1937. Fighters were supplied to many fighter squadrons, where the “Hurricane” earned an excellent reputation. Together with the “Spitfire”, these fighters took part in the Battle of Britain in 1940. Gradually, many new versions of the fighter were built, which installed more powerful engines and armament, as well as larger fuel tanks. A large number of aircraft of this brand were delivered under the “Lend Lease” agreement to the USSR, where they fought in the war with red stars on the wings. One of the variants of the fighter was adapted to combat ground targets. For this, two 40 mm cannons and two “Browning” machine guns are installed in the underwing nacelles. This modification, built in early 1942, was called "Hurribomber". “Rolls-Royce” guns with 12-round ammunition per barrel were initially installed, but “Vickers” S guns with 15-round ammunition per barrel were soon installed. The publication contains parts, from which to build a model of the “Hurricane” Mk.IID “Tank-buster” fighter of the RAF's 6 Squadron in North Africa.
The model is well designed and detailed. The ailerons and tail steering plates are designed as separate parts from the main plates, it is also possible to make separate ailerons from the main wing plates, the parts are intended to represent the wing armament sections, the camouflage is two-color: green and khaki colors, the bottom is blue, there are light traces of use. The model, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, will be perfectly glued even by an advanced beginner modeler. For modelers with little experience, we recommend doing this model in flight position: with the landing gear retracted. It is also recommended to make a single wing - ailerons, not to detail the interior of the cockpit, to make an opaque cockpit cover and not to detail the wing armament compartment.
