Sombold So - 334 - wooden glider, built by Heinz Sombold in 1944. The concept of combat use provided, that the plane would be lifted into the air by a specially designed carrier (bomber). After reaching the required height, the pilot had to detach himself from the carrier and continue the flight, powered by his own engine. The flight was to follow a parabolic trajectory. Once at the correct altitude, the pilot will bring the aircraft into a 450 pitch, directing the Sombold So - 334 into the center of the Allied bomber group. After flying very close, it was necessary to fire a 500 kg bomb, attached to the front part, then leave the combat zone as quickly as possible. Fuel reserves should have been enough for a flight of only 25-30 minutes. For defense, the fighter would have been armed with two machine guns. It was intended to design two-purpose machines: an assault version (2 machine guns and a 500 kg bomb) and a fighter version (two machine guns and a cannon). But the Germans failed to realize these plans, all design work was stopped at the beginning of 1945.

A model of moderate complexity, that can be glued even by an advanced beginner modeler, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Well detailed cockpit interior, separable bomb bay, tail plates are given only with separated control plates, the kit includes details of the “Schleuch – Schlepper” airfield tractor. Less experienced modelers can try to make a model without the cockpit interior, bomb bay detailing, with an opaque cockpit hood and without the airfield tractor.
