Fokker Dr. I "Dreidecker" - the most famous and one of the best in terms of flight characteristics (excellent maneuverability, good rate of climb, excellent speed and endurance) of the German fighter of the First World War. To be precise, there were only two series-produced triplanes at that time - the Fokker Dr. I and the Sopwith “Triplane”. The airplanes of this brand became famous not only for their excellent flight characteristics, but also, not least, thanks to famous aces, who flew and achieved many victories in these airplanes: "Red Baron" Manfred von Richthofen, Werner Foss, Jozef Jakobs, Rudolf Stark .
The model recreates the machine of the "Red Baron", in which he was killed in the spring of 1918 while flying. This publication is probably the best designed version of the triplane on paper. Excellent print quality. By the way, in one of the later publications of the “Orlik” publishing house (number 056) there is a “Dreidecker” model of another German World War I ace - Joseph Jakobs, which we also recommend. Beginner modelers are advised to glue this model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and it should not be one of the first more complex models.
