Savoia Marchetti S. M. 79 “Sparviero” – the Italian torpedo - bomber

Savoia Marchetti S. M. 79 “Sparviero” is, perhaps, the most famous Italian torpedo bomber during World War II. His prototype was built in 1934 as a civilian plane to take part in the London-Australia Grand Race, but the factory failed to complete it in time. Later, this plane reached several speed records with a different load. It soon became apparent, that this aircraft had enormous military potential and was already producing a second prototype as a bomber, which began serial production as early 1936. Manufactured throughout World War II and produced 1,330 specimens of various versions of the aircraft. The surviving specimens still flew fairly shortly as transport planes. 3 aircraft of the Lebanese Air Force had not yet been written off in the mid-fifties.

A sophisticated, well-designed and richly detailed model for experienced modelers. The complexity is further enhanced by the chalk paper, on which most of the details are printed. It increases the realism of the model, but makes it difficult to form and glue details, because not all glues "wear" it. But in the end, a great model will complement your collection.
