The PZL Melec TS-11 "Iskra" aircraft was designed in 1957 and was intended as a replacement for the TS-8 "Bies" training aircraft. 4 test planes were produced, one of which took off for the first time on February 5, 1960. They were delivered to units in 1963 and put into operation by the Polish AF in 1964. In total more than 500 aircraft were produced (50 were sold to India). The TS-11 is a cantilever center-wing layout all-metal monoplane with retractable three-point (with front wheel) landing gear. The first examples were equipped with a Polish-built turbojet engine NO-10, which develops a thrust of 780 kilograms of force, the engine is installed in the fuselage behind the cockpit. Since the mid-sixties of the 20th century the “Iskra” has been equipped with the SO-1 engine, which develops a thrust of 800 kG and even later, the improved SO-3 engine of the same thrust or SO-3W engines with increased thrust. At the moment, "Iskra" Polish AF has already been replaced by new training - combat aircraft I-22 "Iryda".

The details in the publication depict one of the planes of the aerobatic squadron "Czerwono - Biale Iskry". A well-detailed model, in which even the equipment of the instrument compartment can be restored. The assembly drawings reproduce the entire network of hoses and wires. Well-designed cabin interior and chassis. Since the squadron consists of nine planes, the parts allow You to assemble any of them (but only one). The planes differ in numbers and some details of the external decoration. Ailerons and control plates can be made either connected to the main plates or separated and operational. The kit even includes separate trimmers and brake pads, placed under the wheels, as well as a ladder for getting into the cabins. A complex, detailed, well-designed model for intermediate to advanced modelers.
