The Messerschmitt Bf-109 (later Me-109) was a single-engine piston-engine fighter monoplane, that served the German Luftwaffe before and during World War II. It was used to perform the functions of a fighter, fighter-interceptor, high-altitude fighter, fighter-bomber, reconnaissance aircraft. The Messerschmitt Me-109G (“Gustav”) was the most mass-produced version of the brand and was fitted with the latest “Daimler Benz” 605 engine. It was the same DB 601, but with a revised cylinder block, increasing its displacement from 33.9 to 35.7 liters , as a result of which the power increased in 175 h. p., and the dimensions remained almost unchanged. Armament was also strengthened: instead of the standard 7.62 mm caliber MG-17 machine guns, 13 mm caliber machine guns were installed. Characteristic protrusions appeared on the sides of the engine hood - the streamlines of the power system of the new machine guns. But the additional equipment and new armament increased the Gustav's weight by 10%, compared to the F-version fighters. With the "B" version fighter, the comparison was even higher at 46%. New "Mesers" were delivered to combat units in May 1942. Basically, at that time the Me-109 reached the peak of its technical development and had to give way to new machines. But the planned replacement Messerschmitt Me-209 II was still in the development stage, and things on the fronts were not going in Germany's favor, so the top command of the III Reich decided to continue improving these machines. The second edition of this model saw the light, because the first one was completely sold out.

The model represents the 5./JG.53 fighter, which was based at the Cosimo airfield in Sicily in October 1942. Highly detailed model, painted in a beautiful “mottled” camouflage with a highly detailed cockpit interior, all control plates can be made “working”. A well-designed and richly detailed model of an aircraft of medium complexity, for modelers of all experience. However, we recommend, that modelers with little experience work under the supervision of a modeler with more experience, and for beginner modelers to make the model without cockpit interior, with an opaque hood and without landing gear, in the flight stage.
