At the end of 1958 WSK Okęcie received a license from the USSR for the production of a new version of the Yak-12. It was the Yak-12A, a completely new aircraft, with almost nothing left of the previous Yak-12-M. It was a universal passenger, transport, sanitary plane, which became the most popular sanitary plane in Poland at the time. The Polish Yak - 12-M and the later PZL - 101 "Gawron" were overtaken by better flight characteristics. Together with the Yak - 12-M, the Yak - 12A carried out sea rescue work, in the military service it performed patrol and communication service, flew cargo and passengers, but it was most suitable for the sanitary service. In 1956 - 1960 WSK Okęcie produced 1,500 of both types of Yak - 12, most of which were exported to the USSR. Yak - 12 - a very durable aircraft - 47 Yak - 12 were still registered in the Polish aircraft register in 2007, Polish aero clubs had 5 dispositional and 6 private "yaks". Some units of these planes also flew in the Lithuanian SSR and are still flying in the Republic of Lithuania.

Not very complicated small model of a civil plane with full equipment for pilots and sanitary cabins, decent engine maquette, excellent external detailing. Two variants of wing markings are available, corresponding to different periods. Includes details for opening doors and cargo hatch. For advanced beginners and modelers with little experience we recommend working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. It would be good for them to try to make a full version of the model: it will work - cool, it will not work... You can always make the windows glass opaque, not make a full engine maquette.
