In 1946 the plane was tested. Serial production began almost in the same year. The main variant of the Yak-12 had very good flight characteristics among aircraft of its class. The plane was equipped with a radio station and all the devices, that allow flying at night and in difficult meteorological conditions. The acceleration distance was only 120 m, the sprint while crouching was 150 m. The modified "Jak-12M" was produced in the Polish PR, where it was called the PZL-101 "Gawron". In 1972 the operation of the "Yak-12" in the civil aviation of the USSR was stopped due to the exhausted flight resource and long service period. The Jak-12 with M-11FR engines, later the Jak-12R, Jak-12M and Jak-12A were in widespread use in DOSAAF air clubs until 1989, with some aircraft still in storage there for several years. A small number of these types of aircraft still fly today. The Yak-12M had an elongated rear fuselage, a significantly increased tail plane, a four-seater cabin. Separate versions were adapted for agricultural work, sanitary functions, training of paratroopers. More than 1,000 of these airplanes were produced, several dozen of them went to the aero clubs of the Lithuanian SSR, where several of them were restored in a fair condition at the time of Independence. A few are still flying: LY-XVV, LY-XJB (with a particularly interesting painting), LY-GWO.

A moderately complex, well-detailed model for modelers of all experience. For beginners and modelers with little experience, we recommend gluing the model under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, and for beginners, do not make the interior of the cabin yet, and make the glasses opaque. Two variants of painting are available.
