The first prototype was completed before the jet engines, so the first flight of the Me-262V-1 was with the traditional Junkers "Jumo-210G" of 700 h. p. power motor mounted on the front of the machine. The first flight of the second prototype V2 with two BMW 003 engines and an additional piston engine "Jumo 210G" took place on March 25, 1942. The third prototype V3, which was already a real jet, made its first flight on July 18, 1942. This fighter is equipped with Jumo 004 engines. Serial production started only in 1944. Out of 1,433 machines produced, only about 300 managed to enter service. Despite its many shortcomings, the Me - 262 was the first harbinger of the end of the era of piston-powered aircraft.
A medium-complexity well-detailed and well-designed Me-262B - 1a/U1 night fighter in attractive camouflage, designed for the modeler with no less, than average experience. However, when working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, this model can be perfectly glued even by a modeler with little experience.
