In 1956 the McDonnell Douglas company completed the documentation, preparation work and began the production of the F-4H "Phantom II" prototype - the air defense fighter. "Phantom" took to the air for the first time on May 27, 1958. After winning the competition against the “Crusader” fighter, the US Navy and Marines ordered the first aircraft. Comparative tests have shown, that the “Phantom II” is capable of fighting and defeating all the best fighters of the time. After these tests, the USAF became interested in the plane. The aircraft was constantly improved and produced in many versions, used in many wars and conflicts of the last thirties of the 20th century, exported to 11 countries around the world. It became the main fighter of NATO countries, some of them still use this type of aircraft, although the USA abandoned them in 1996.

A complex model, suitable for intermediate to advanced modellers, well designed both graphically and structurally, with traces of exploitation.
