The company "Sportsflugzeugbau Rieseler" was founded in the 20es of XXth century by the pilot and designer Walter Rieseler. It was located on the territory of the Berlin - Johannistal airfield. The company was engaged in the design of sports planes. One such aircraft was a light sport aircraft with an "parasol" wing. The aircraft is marked R.I (also called Sportflugzeug Parasol), it is equipped with a two-cylinder 26 y. p. power engine "Haacke". Since the company did not have its own production capacity, the plane was manufactured by the factory of the company "Stahlwerk Mark, Abt. Breslau". R.I participated in many competitions and exhibitions, including the famous Deutchlandrundflug. In 1921 the airplane won the race Berlin - Tempelhof and participated in the international air show in Stockholm.
