AV-8B "Harrier" II - modernization of the British vertical takeoff and landing fighter Hawker Siddeley "Harrier". Compared to the prototype, the new plane is significantly different. A wing with a larger area and a larger length (2.69 sq.m.) was installed, the sweep of the wing was reduced to 36 degrees, instead of the previous 40, the underwing supporting landing gear legs were moved closer to the fuselage, metal was replaced with composite materials in many places in the aircraft construction. This made it possible to increase the payload of the plane to 4,200 kg - almost twice as much, as the prototype could carry. The number of external suspension nodes was increased from 4 to 7, a more powerful engine Rolls - Royce "Pegasus 105" was installed, manufactured in the USA under license as "Pratt and Whitney" F-402_RR-406. The fixed air refueling probe has been replaced with a retractable one, mounted on the left fairing. The cabin is raised higher and thus improves the view from it. In addition, to the United States, the Spanish and Italians use the Harrier II in their Air Force. The British produced their own version corresponding to the "Harrier II" - the "Harrier" Gr.5, which was slightly different from the AV-8B, and the differences were dictated by the needs of the RAF.

From the publication, You can make a model of the AV-8B "Harrier" II plus aircraft, that served in the US Marine Corps Air Force, which is quite complex, well designed and richly detailed. The model is intended for intermediate and advanced modelers only. It perfectly reproduces the exterior detailing, the chassis and its niches, the interior of the cabin, the hanging armament units and the details of the armament itself. Great graphic instructions, text maybe a bit poor, but covers all the details. Quite a large stock of colors.
