The An-2 aircraft was built by the Test Construction Bureau (TKB) No. 153 brigade in Novosibirsk, led by O. Antonov. The prototype was designated "SCH-1 - sielskohoziaistviennyj (agricultural), it took off for the first time on August 31, 1947. Air tests continued until July 1948. finished on September 6, 1949. The prototypes and the first series of aircraft were equipped with 760 h. p. power ASh-21 engines, later they were replaced by 1000 h. p. starting power ASh-62IR engines, which significantly improved the plane's flight characteristics. Small wing loading and powerful wing mechanization allowed the plane to be used from small landing - takeoff sites and unprepared fields. Due to the ease of maintenance, robustness and reliability, the An-2 quickly became popular in the republics of the USSR and socialist countries. During the production the design was constantly improved, based on the experience of the pilots, who used them. The biggest change was the increase in the stabilizer length from 6600 to 7200 mm and reducing its angle of attachment. On the basis of the basic version, many variants of the aircraft have been developed, adapted to future operating conditions. In addition to the USSR, "Anushka" (as these planes were affectionately called by the pilots, who flew them) was produced in the Republic of China and Poland. During almost 30 years of production, 12,000 airplanes of this brand were produced in Poland, of which 10,500 were exported to the USSR. In the initial stage of their recovery, these planes were used quite widely by the recovered Lithuanian Military Aviation and civil organizations.

A complex, well-designed and highly detailed model for intermediate and advanced modelers only. The model reproduces the appearance of the 45th Reconnaissance Aviation Squadron in Modlin aircraft with tactical number 9854. The model has a perfectly detailed cockpit, transport compartment, engine, chassis, exterior detailing. The control plates are separated from the main plates. Great graphics and detailed text instructions, there is an option to make some knots more complex or simple, but it does not simplify the model enough, that even an advanced beginner, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, can glue it together. There is not a very large stock of colors. Those, who want to make a model of the Lithuanian version of this plane, should work well with a computer graphics program and have a number of photos of the prototype, to be copied.
