During World War II only three duck-type aircraft were produced: the American XP-55 "Ascender", the Italian "SS-4" and the Japanese J7W1 "Shinden". Work on the Japanese plane began at the Aviation Test Institute in Yokosuka, led by engineer M. Tsuruno. In 1943 the test glider MXY-6 was built. His first successful flight took place in January 1944. The first flight of the "Shinden" plane took place in 1945. In total this plane spent less, than an hour in the air, but the impressions from the flight raised hopes, that it would be a good fighter. The Navy decided to order a small batch of these aircraft and expected to receive about 100 of these fighters per month, starting in June. Only two prototypes were made, before Japan's capitulation. The second of them was transported to the USA after the war for further tests.

An uncomplicated, well designed and richly detailed model of an interesting fighter, that recreates the first appearance of the J7W1 "Shinden" prototype. Well detailed cabin equipment, landing gear and its niches, perfectly reproduced all external details, medium size, but detailed graphic and textual instructions, control plants separated from the main plates. Colors reserve are in stock. The model is intended for modelers of any experience - even beginners (not as one of the first models) and modelers with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced modeler.
