The Polish-Bolshevik War took place in 1919-1920 between the newly re-established Republic of Poland and Soviet Russia. For Poland it was the biggest armed conflict after the restoration of independence, threatening its existence. The Bolshevik government of Russia, after the German army left the eastern front, decided to bring revolution to the "oppressed nations of Europe". And the first to come across their path, was the recently re-established army of the Republic of Poland (Wojsko Polskie), whose ranks also included friendly Ukrainian, Belarusian and Russian soldiers, who had fled from Soviet rule. Two years of intense battles prevented the Red Army from seizing the territories of the Second Polish Republic and saved the state itself. This war was the first, in which the nascent Polish Air Force (Lotnictwo Wojskowe) took part. The military aviation of both sides included a wide variety of aircraft types. Poland bought quite a few planes, but most of them were found in warehouses, left by former occupiers. War trophies taken from the Imperial Russian Air Force or from the White Guards served in the Russian Air Force.

From the publication a modeler of any experience (modelers with little experience are recommended to work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague) can glue together 4 airplane models of this war - two for each side: the Austro-Hungarian Albatros (Oeffag) D. III and the Italian Ansaldo A.1 " Balilla" - Poles, and French-made "Nieuport Nie-24 and SPAD VIIC1 - Bolsheviks. The models are quite well detailed for this small scale and quite colorful - especially the "Albatros".
