The YAK-3 was the best fighter of the USSR in World War II. It was built during the development of the Yak-1 fighter. In 1944 - 1945 more than 4,800 airplanes of this type in several versions were produced. It was fought by pilots of the USSR, Poland, Yugoslavia and France. After the war part of the planes, that were part of the "Normandy - Neman" regiment, were transferred to the re-establishing French AF, where they were used until the beginning of the 1950s and even longer for school - training purposes.

It is not a very complicated model, intended for modelers of any experience, only those with little experience are recommended to glue it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and take their time. The cabin's equipment is restored in the model, the landing gear and its niches, wing mechanization, control plates are separated from the main plates, are perfectly designed and detailed. However, for beginners, we recommend making a model without cabin equipment, with opaque glasses, included undercarriage - in the flight phase. Of course, it's worth trying to do all this: you'll succeed - you'll have a great model, full of details, you won't succeed... You can make a model of one of two planes from the publication: French Lieutenant Roger Sauvage (16 victories) from the French "Normandy-Neman" regiment or Lieutenant Semyon Rogovoy (5 victories) from the USSR AF 64th Guards Destroyer Regiment (with the inscription "Amur Flotilla sailors' gift").
