At the beginning of 1940 the Italian Ministry of Aviation ordered the production of two fighter jets, powered by German engines DB601 at the FIAT company. These were respectively modified G.50 machines with oil radiators, mounted under the engine and an oil radiator under the cab. The prototype took off on April 30, 1942. In August the second prototype, equipped with a DB605A engine with a VDM propeller, already flew. In September FIAT receives the contract for serial production of the G.55. In February 1943 the initial order of 200 units grew to 1,800, to be produced in three factories. The first serial G.55 took off on April 10, 1943. When Italy withdrew from the war, the Germans continued production of the G.55 and produced 128 fighters. It did not take long to produce even after the war.

A simple, well-designed and detailed Italian Military AF G.55 "Centauro" is what this publication offers You to make. The model is suitable for modelers of any experience, but it is better for beginners to glue it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague and not as one of the first more complex models.
