Messerschmitt Bf – 109T - 1 – the German deck fighter

In the mid-thirties of the 20th century the German Navy decided to build a new class of ships - aircraft carriers. The search for a suitable plane for them began immediately. Due to the overloaded production lines, it was decided to adapt the existing fighters for this, and in the initial version they were supposed to be the Arado Ar-197, but after the tests it became clear, that by the end of the construction of the aircraft carrier, these fighters would already be obsolete. So, it was decided to adapt the new planes Bf - 109 to the role of a deck fighter. After processing and testing the fighter, a series of 70 "Theodor" modification fighters were produced in the months of February - June 1941, which were never used for the direct purposes, for which they were intended. After removing the aerofinisher hooks and catapult attachment units, these fighters (not all) took part in battles in East Prussia, in the defense of Königsberg.

A fairly complex, but well-designed and interesting model for intermediate to advanced modelers. Can be made with movable steering surfaces, full detailing of the cockpit, engine, armament. But, after omitting all these attributes, making the cockpit opaque, the landing gear included, this model (more precisely, models, because two complete airplane models can be made, only the frames will need to be copied) can be made by modelers with little experience under the supervision of a more experienced colleague.
