The famous British designer Geoffrey de Havilland wanted to build a fighter, that would not be inferior in its characteristics to the Fokker E fighters, which are considered the first real aircraft of this type. But he had one problem to solve: unlike the Germans, the British had not yet developed a synchronizer, that would allow the machine guns to fire through the rotating propeller of the aircraft. The designer solved this problem by mounting the engine with a propeller behind the cockpit and using a pushing propeller. The pilot was armed with a movable machine gun, but they soon began to be rigidly mounted, as pilots were used to targeting the entire aircraft, rather than rotating the machine gun. Since D.H. 2 was very maneuverable, this decision worked. The D.H. 2 prototype took to the air for the first time in 1916, 400-450 units were produced and entered service in the spring of 1916. Since the airplanes did not yield to improvement, they were used for a relatively short time - until the end of 1917, but a number of pilots achieved a number of resounding victories with them.

A simple model, but requiring care and attention, which, under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, modelers with little experience will stick together perfectly. The model represents an aircraft of one of the divisions of the Royal Flying Corps with the serial number 5967.
