MBR-2 – the USSR short-range reconnaissance hydroplane

The “MBR – 2” short - range reconnaissance aircraft was built by G. Beriyev in 1933. This seaplane became the first USSR military serial flying boat. The seaworthiness of the aircraft was very good, it was relatively cheap and easy to manufacture. With the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War, the aviation segments of the Baltic, Black Sea, and Arctic Ocean fleets armed with these planes, became actively involved in combat operations. During the whole year of serial production (1934 - 1940), 1365 “MBR – 2” aircraft were manufactured.

A well-designed medium-complexity model is suitable for almost any modeler, but we recommend, that a novice modeler assemble it under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, and this should not be one of the first more complex models.
