Grumman F4F "Wildcat" - the first US deck fighter - monoplane. Work on this plane began in 1936 and it was originally planned as a biplane. The prototype took to the air for the first time in September 1937, the first serial “Wildcats” were delivered to units only in 1940. From 1941 to 1943 it was the main deck fighter of the US Navy. It was later used extensively on US Marine Corps escort aircraft carriers. Part of the aircraft produced, was used by the British Royal Air Force. About 8 thousand were produced in 1940-1945 all versions of “Wildcat” fighters. The F4F was the axis of US aircraft carrier defense in almost all battles of the first half of World War II (Battle of the Coral Sea, Battle of Midway, Battle of Guadalcanal,...) However, the Japanese main deck fighter A6M "Zero" could stay in the air longer, was more maneuverable, had a vertical speed advantage, but the “Wildcat” was stronger and more resistant to damage.

The model is carefully designed and well detailed, with a full engine model, so it is only suitable for modelers, who have already glued more complex models. The model is designed in such a way, that it can be glued even by a modeler with little experience, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. However, this will also require all talents and a lot of effort. The model recreates the machine, based on the USS "Yorktown" aircraft carrier, which was flown and fought by Lieutenant Commander S. Tchach at the turn of May-June 1942.
