PZL P.11a (so-called "eleven") is a Polish single-engine metal construction fighter with a Puławski wing, classic tail and a stationary chassis. The first flight of the prototype took place in 1931, but series production did not begin until 1937 and continued until 1939. The first serial version was the PZL P.11a, powered by the Bristol “Mercury” IV S2 550 h. p. power engine. However, it was treated as a transitional option, only 50 units were ordered. The most famous version of the "eleven" - PZL P.11c - appeared in the summer. It had an improved fuselage, a wing, and a vertical tail - a keel. All this improved the aerodynamics of the aircraft. The engine has not changed. Interest in the aircraft was expressed by Romania, where 95 units PZL P.11 was produced at the IAR plants under license. At the start of the war, all versions of the P.11 were much slower, than the German fighters, but at the same time were more maneuverable, had a higher climb speed and a more reliable engine, than the German planes. They won many victories against the enemy during the September campaign, mostly as part of the Fighter Brigade. Technical data (version P.11c): length: 7.55 m, wingspan: 10.72 m, height: 2.85 m, maximal speed: 367 km / h, climbing speed: 14.5 m / s, ceiling: 8000 m, maximal flight distance: 550 km, armament: 2 machine guns "wz.33" 7.92 mm caliber.
Although it looks quite simple in appearance, the design of the aircraft itself makes the production of its model quite complicated and requires a lot of care and attention. And most importantly - do not rush. A well-designed and moderately detailed “eleven” model is recommended for beginners and inexperienced modelers, working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Sure, experienced modelers can make a real masterpiece from this publication, but it will take a lot of effort. One of two 112 Fighter Squadron aircraft models is available to assemble as an option.
