The “Albatros” W.4 is a World War I time single-seat hidrofighter, designed for the German Navy. The first tests of the new machine began in August 1916, and the “Albatros” W. 4 began service in combat units in early 1917. A total of 118 units were produced by December 1917. The aircraft was used for patrolling and defending German naval bases in the Baltic and North Seas. The fighter was not used extensively by the German navy and has been replaced by two-seater machines such as the “Hansa-Brandenburg” W.12 since 1918. Technical data: maximum speed: 160 km / h, climb speed 3.3 m / s , maximum ceiling 3000 m, maximum flight distance: 450 km, armament: two 7.92 mm LMG08 machine guns.
