"Ka-26" (according to the NATO code system "Hoodlum" - "Hooligan") is a multipurpose helicopter built by Kamov TKB. Serial production was carried out at factories in Ulan-Ude and Kumertau aviation factories. 816 helicopters were produced, of which 257 were exported to 14 countries. The helicopter was mostly used for civilian purposes, but was in the arsenal of the Romanian and Hungarian AF, and was used by the GDR and FRG police. After the completion of production of the Ka-26, its more advanced versions began - the Ka-126 with one gas turbine engine and the Ka-226 with two such engines. These helicopters were widely used by the road patrol service and fire protection of the USSR, including the Lithuanian SSR. After the collapse of the USSR a dozen units of these flying machines remained in service in Lithuania and were used by the Road Police and Border Guard Services for some time. After the end of flight resources or the purchase of more advanced helicopters, "Ka-26" were written off. One of them (Border Guard Service) is in the exhibition of the Lithuanian Aviation Museum.

The model can easily be converted into Lithuanian by repainting. A well-designed, richly detailed model of medium difficulty, suitable even for the advanced beginner modeler, if done without a cockpit interior, with opaque glass and under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. Detailed cabin interior, engines, other details. The model represents the passenger variant, used by “Aeroflot”, but provides interchangeable rear fuselage blocks for passenger, agricultural and transport helicopters. There are also several parts for 200 l fuel drums to diversify the model. There is a Russian instruction.
