In Great Britain before World War II and during the war, a number of gliders were built for the transfer of paratroopers to enemy-occupied territories: "Hotspur", "Horsa", "Hamilcar", "Hengist"… The most famous of them is the A.S. 51 "Horsa". They were used in the landing operation in Normandy, in the commando landing in the operation "Market Garden". They could fly a commando squad, either an all-terrain “Willys” MB and a 6-pounder gun, or a “Willys” MB and two trailers with ammunition and supplies, or two “Willys” MBs. But this troop vehicle turned out to be very expensive to use, and the Germans learned to decontaminate the gliders before they landed (the potential landing site was studded with dug-in posts).
A large but not very complicated model with full interior equipment. Also, it can be made as a cargo all-terrain “Willys” MB and two-trailer models. The ruder plates can be made both together with the main ones and separately. If you do not detail the interior of the model, make the glasses opaque, do not make the car and trailers, and work under the supervision of a more experienced colleague, then this model will be glued without much difficulty even by an advanced beginner modeler.
