The Order of the Johannites appeared during the Crusades. Their task was to defend the borders of the Kingdom of Jerusalem, to protect the pilgrims, who came to the Holy Land from "infidels" and to take care of the sick and wounded. The Knights of the Crusades, who came in abundance to the Holy Land, returned to their homes at the end of the march. At that time their duties were taken over by the brothers of the Order. Three main knightly orders were established: the Johannites, the Templars, and the Crusaders. The Order of the Johannites originated around 1070 years ago and was originally engaged only in healing, and from 1130 it combined Samaritan activities with knights. The chose the name of the order was derived from the church of St. John in Jerusalem. For a long time they worked as nurses and doctors, defending pilgrims, and performing other tasks, assigned to them. After the Christian exodus from the Holy Land, the Johannites moved to Cyprus, and in 1309 established their own state on the island of Rhodes, which had a strong army and navy, that was constantly at war with Turkey. In 1530 the Turks expelled them from the island and the Johannites moved to Malta and became the Order of Malta. In 1800 the island was occupied by the British and the Maltese Order was abolished, but it was later restored and still exists today.
The figure is not very complicated and is perfect for beginners and inexperienced modelers. But diligence, patience should accompany you in assembling and shaping every detail. And more experienced modelers can try to "squeeze" more, than the publication gives. Metal armor details are printed in "metallic" color.
