Production of the prototype tank T-34 began in January 1940, and two months later the new tanks were delivered to the USSR party and military leadership in the Kremlin. The series production permit was issued in March 1940, and three months later the tanks were put into series production at Factory no. 183 in Kharkiv. In September 1940, the first serial tanks were introduced to combat units in the Red Army. The refurbishment of the tank took place throughout all production period and the list of changes was very long. They took part in all the battles of the Soviet Army and were still used for some time after the war. From 1940 to 1944, over 35,000 tanks with 76.2 mm caliber cannons were produced.
Some of these tanks were taken over by the Germans and made up of 10 companies 3Pz. Jg. Abt. 2 Pz. Gr. Div. SS "Das Reich", a model of which is from the 1943 operation "Citadel" and can be made from this publication. Medium complexity well designed and richly detailed model, with mechanic location, engine compartment and tower detailing.
