The Light Tank Mk VII (A17), also known as the "Tetrarch", was a British light tank, produced in the late 30s of XXth century. It was used in World War II. Built as a significantly improved variant of the Mk VIB light tank. The British command had ordered 220 tanks of this type, but then the plan was abandoned. Between 100 and 177 of these tanks were produced throughout the production period. The military command ordered this tank to be used in the North African campaign. Also 20 "Tetrarch" were sent to the forces of the Soviet Union. In 1941 at the beginning 3 divisions of these tanks were created. In 1942 in May, a small group of "Tetrarch"s formed part of the British armed forces, that fought in the Battle of Madagascar. In 1943 many "Tetrarch"s were transferred to Sicily. 20 tanks of this type in June 1944 reached Normandy. Although the tanks landed successfully (they were airlifted to Normandy), they did not perform well there. They were nowhere near equal (either in armor or cannon power) to the German Wermacht armed forces. A few days after the start of the Normandy operation, the "Tetrarch" ceased to be used as assault tanks (after that they were used only as infantry support tanks). In 1944 in August, these tanks were replaced by more powerful "Cromwell" tanks, but these took part in few battles. There were several variations of the "Tetrarch". The most famous of them are the "Alecto" SPG and the light tank Mk VIII.

A simple, small model of a light tank, painted in a beautiful spotted camouflage, perfect for modellers of all experience. Only for modellers with little experience we recommend working under the supervision of a more experienced colleague. The textual instruction is only in Czech and incomplete, the graphic is an example of how graphic instructions should not be done. Even the devil himself would turn his head in that "hedgehog-type" drawing, besides, not all the details are represented in it... But, if that didn't scare You and You managed to put this model together, You will have a great exhibit in your collection.
