„IS – 7“ - the USSR heavy tank

IS - 7 (object 260) - experimental Soviet heavy tank, designed in 1945 - 1947. Production was limited to 6 prototypes and a dozen pre-series machines, produced in 1949. Like other Soviet tanks built before it, it was designed to break through powerful enemy defensive lines and had excellent armor. The most powerful of its time and the heaviest of all Soviet tanks. It was not adopted in the arsenal of the USSR Army, but most of the solutions, that were used in this tank for the first time, were later successfully used in subsequent serial combat vehicles.
